It amazes me
This chasm
Where your body once rested
Every day the scent of you fading a little more
Every woman I notice reminds me but a little of your perfection
This one, her hair is sort of like yours
But not as long, and without the sun lightened parts
That one, her eyes almost remind me of you
But they're not dark enough
The shape of this one looks almost familiar
But she's just a little taller
And not nearly as curvy
There's nobody quite like you
And for that I fear
And am grateful
Because when the lights go out
And I lie staring into the void
I can still see you laying there breathing softly
But when I touch you
My hands sink slowly, sadly into the place you were before
But I remind myself
It's only for awhile
