Here I sit
in my comfortable cage
Afraid to go out
In this insane day and age

So here I remain
Prisoner without will
With limited days
So much time to kill

Descended from apes
Paranoid cowards all of them
Made me a survivor
And a spineless cretin

The life that I have
Both precious and grave
I squander away
In my dark lonely cave

This inspired a grin...maybe a smirk. Struck me as slightly comical at any rate. Sounded so serious in the beginning and then the second line of the third stanza just set the tone...and yet it's sad in a weird way.
