Rainbow apparitions
Dancing in the pools
Formed by streetlamps

Once
This was where forever
Met her soulmate
In the shadows
That only stars could cast

Once
This was where red
Did not stand for blood
For roses
For rubies
But instead
Simply vibrated
At a higher frequency

Once
Upon a time
There was time
To let the dust
Settle into orbits
Before they decayed
Into trajectories

There is
Little left to shine
But what is left glowing
In the afterburn
Of this nova

Now
Subatomic particles
Wave in the distance

Rainbow apparitions
Dancing in the pools
Formed by streetlamps
