you keep hacking away at my sheet of lies..
walls of misgiving and half understanding objectives..
and i'm tying a knot around your finger..
leading you off somewhere to die.
and i hope you'll find your way back somehow.

twirling this blindfold around my fingers..
plotting gracefully.. manipulating every crease..
every fold.. and this is for you, my dear.
these erronous phrases, thieving stares,
and empty punctuation marks can't be so misleading.

i tap on hollow hearts.. can you bleed?
have you seen my mind drifting faithlessly away
amidst your naive clouds? certainly not..
your skies have denied my bad behavior
in our pasts.. our presents..
and you can't call this a future.

every passing breath and the black lining
around the words i've whispered seductively in your ear..
you sleep without stars, my love..
inhale what oxygen is left after your upheaval
of unwritten documents and lifeless novels..
making my eyes come to a close with every
sentence i wish i never heard.. every syllable
i stabbed as they escaped your mouth.

i told you, speak not. save your words, sweet girl.
i've heard enough of your thoughtless tongues..
sweeping deserts of life after death.
call me hypocrite, but i am blunt.
catching your glimpses and saving them for another day..

and i wonder if you'd like me as a possession?
would you like to feel my skin upon your fingers
after intruding upon my life? heave my words..
sigh my breaths.. steal my heart?
empty my book of morals.. every selfless
act i've ever executed.

and closing this bible has been hard..
carving pictures into flesh can be painful,
but you've made it worth my while..
casting shadows onto a wall with
nothing but cardboard cutouts and
string..

if only you had been so deep..
pressed your lips to my forehead and
told me things that i wanted to hear..
but we can't always have what we want, correct?

and ceasing hearts twice fail when accounting
for your oblivious palms.. of which blood has not
fallen.. and you've become what men fear most.
a virgin to all things tangible.. thus appealing
to all senses.. how do you speak?
how to words flow from unexperience?

so dictate your own skies.. believe what you'd like.
i'll manipulate tongues and falter between the lines
and you'll misinterpret every word i voice.
unforgiving and modest.

come down for one second?
