I wrote something today.
Not on paper,
that would be too easy,
but on the corners of my mind.

(You know those corners that you can't even get to with a vacuum)

Wrote it on the walls of time for all to see,
but no one noticed;
Walked on by humming their own tunes.
Writing their own stories on walls untouched.

I really did write something today.
Wrote it for you.
For all the times we spent talking.
Hours lost and only found with laughter
and playful whispers.

I wrote something for her today.
Tagged it up on the largest billboard I could find,
"There is nothing like a Mother's guilt; letting you know how much they've sacrificed
and how you need to match and exceed that just to gain their respect."

I wrote something for me today.
Something to remind myself that I'm more than they think I am.
Words to let me know there is more to this life
and to know it's alright to be who I was born to be.

I wrote something today
and I think this is it.
