Years ago, I went on
A hike with a friend of mine
The day, beautiful
Blue sky, warm sunshine
Up a narrow ridge we rose
With peril to either side
That was when he froze
Hey, what’s the matter Alfred

He said, I fear falling, I
Don’t know which way I will fall
He said, I fear falling, I
Know that I will fall

One more time I try to
Scale your perilous rise
In order to know you, girl
The hope, to make you mine

But, you’re far too dangerous
Hazards at every turn
And you know my weakness
You, I have yet to learn

Now I feel like Alfred, I
Don’t know which way I will fall
I feel like Alfred, I
Know that I will fall

Again
You are inviting and enticing
Me to aspire to your heights
I am
Battered, bruised and bleeding
From my attempts at your climb

When I
Finally gain your summit
What wonders will I see
Is my
Reward you, my dear
Or just this knowledge of agony

And I feel like Alfred, I
Don’t know which way I will fall
I feel like Alfred, I
Know that I will fall

I feel like Alfred, I
Fear falling, I
Feel like Alfred, I
Fear I am falling
In love with you

Yes, you are a dangerous one

I have always wanted to go rock climbing, but I get dizzy on the 4th step of a ladder (no kidding). Yet I know that if I can conquer my fear, I can have so much fun :) (Just thinking of the ladder, I feel sea sick). ~V.
