NO DOUBT

You may doubt the mountain's high
You may doubt that birds can fly
You may doubt the water's wet
Or yourself and second guess

You may doubt the sky is blue
Or one and one do make two
You may doubt the morning light
Or yourself in the dark of night

You may doubt the starry skies
You may doubt the truth to why
You may doubt the other's lies
Or yourself and those tears you cry

You may doubt what's strange and new
This is what I ask of you
Please don't doubt my love for you
For I have no doubt, I love you

ORIGINAL WAY

I would like to tell you
How I feel about you
In some original way
Without sounding cliché

I don’t want to buy you a Hallmark
Filled with someone else’s words
But when I try to express these feelings
My rhymes are less than revealing

All the words that have been written
All the cute phrases spoken
All the gestures given before
I thought I could throw out the door

I believed a simple statement would never do
To declare how I feel about you
As I come to the end of this song
I know now, I was wrong

And what was conceived yesterday
Expresses everything I need to say
I am so very sorry
It is not an original way
These three words will have to do
I love you
