Bruised and battered
Left to die
Locked in her room
All she does is cry
She never understood it
Why is he always so mad
She tries hard to be good
Yet he still deems her as bad
Hiding in the closet
She holds her breath
His foot steps grow closer
She begins to fear death
The door swings open
She sinks to the floor
A river or threats and curse words
From his mouth begin to swarm
He raises his hand
She closes her eyes
She strikes her once, twice, three times
She tries her hardest not to cry
She was always a good girl
Hardly ever bad
All she ever wanted
Was the love of her dad
Its too late now
He’s beat her to death
Even still she manages to say
I love you as she takes her last breath
