You look at me as if you just saw a ghost
eyes once bright with twinkles of life
now are gone-- dark and solemn
A touch once familiar
is now cold and icy upon my skin
a breath on the back of my neck
once warm and giving me chills
now gives me goosebumps and makes my blood run cold
something so familiar now feels lost
unknown, untrustworthy, unreal
distant and lost

How can two people grow apart
when neither realized anything was wrong
How can two people grow apart
when they fit perfectly together
When two lips meeting felt so right
when being entwined in arms
in sheets- in each other just felt so comfortable
How could these two people grow apart
slowly drifting apart
each one seeing what is now happening
but to stubborn and full of pride to cling on
to grasp on for dear life
How could this happen
When did this happen

A feeling I think many know all too well. Something that should work and once did work, now is just painful to hold on to.

Like a ghost. Something there, but not really there, a reminder of what once was. Lovely work. The title really brings it all together.
