Eight A.M. and I am awake

Sitting, waiting for your embrace

I roll over and see you there

A smile on your face lying still

Your eyes slowly open

Good morning you say

I smile softly

And close my eyes

Your lips brush my forehead

Your arms entertwine with mine

An hour passes

And there we lay

Two bodies together

For forever and a day
