Listless yet orbited.
The sky blazes orange with blue hues
and a masterful crimson.

I fly toward the sun.
Not realizing the depth of the
atmosphere.
The loss of oxygen....
and the gain of freedom within
my lungs.

Entering through each and every cloud
As if I knew them by name.
Passing through, they dissipate
and fluff up again.

I suddenly have eagle eyes, with an owls vision.

I see myself, but it really isn't me.....
not the soul of who I was, nor the
heart of who I am this very minute,
flying through darkness
seeing light within the skies.....

The shell of once was and never to be's,
Lie there cold. Lifeless. Pale. Gone.

Shivering a bit.
The wind changes direction and I am
aimlessly wandering about the now
bottomless sky.

I see comets soar past me.
I watch as they hit, and light up the earth.
As if a nuclear bomb had exploded.

I see Mars up ahead, fighting Jupiter for the
remaining constellations.

Mars can't lose this fight. Not this time.
The warrior! The brave!
Red with passion
and the fire of a guilded rage.

Four moons full, Jupiter rises yet,
pulls back, and bellows a hollow
cry. But not one of a stolen victory, but one
of a
quiet humbleness.

Jupiter bows, and
let's Mars have the reigns of the Sun.

I am trying to remember why I was here?
Where was I going again?

Am I really....

Witnessing this.

Watching in awe, I suddenly
remembered I was on my way
to the light....
toward the sun and the four moons
of Jupiter.

Now all I see is the full pale moon.

The same color as the face below, on that
lifeless shell of human flesh and bones....

Hands crossed. Feet tucked away neatly.

Cold ground covering brittle limbs.
Earth's remnants over a life that
was, is and still to be more.

Now with clarity.

My soul ascending, quietly.

Peace and love.
Serenity found.

Now I see..... ... I see clearly.

The stars were in my eyes all along and my wings
are now my salvation to a life everlasting.

I can now fly away free.
